Take a look at my career history and you'll see that I have numerous other strings to my bow that complement my work as a copywriter.
My experience and background
I’ve always loved writing, but it takes more than that to be successful as a copywriter. Throughout my career to date, I’ve worked hard to build up as much experience as possible, writing for clients across pretty much every sector, for businesses and consumers. I’ve also worked on developing complementary skills such as HTML, SEO and PR. After completing my degree at Oxford University (which I have to thank for my research skills and ability to juggle an insane amount of work), I started copywriting and proofreading in-house for a travel company. I then continued gaining copywriting experience working in digital marketing agencies, where I got to write copy for big names such as Miele and More Than Insurance. In my spare time, I studied for a Diploma in Copywriting to add to my CV.
Since going freelance, I’ve worked with everything from start-ups to international organisations. I love the varied challenges my work throws at me, and the hugely diverse things I have to learn about everyday. I love all my clients, but I’m particularly proud to write regularly for the United Nations World Food Programme.

A history of Rachel
I relocated to be closer to Oxford after a few years of living and working in the Midlands. I also completed a year-long training course to qualify for my helicopter licence.
I started working with some big new clients, including The North Face. In my spare time I did lots of flying, having completed training for my Private Pilot's Licence in 2015.
I took the plunge and became a full-time freelance copywriter, quickly gaining prestigious clients including the United Nations World Food Programme.
I worked for a while at another digital marketing agency specialising in the charity sector. I carried out content audits for the Royal College of Art and Oxford University. I also worked for a while in my previous agency, where I rewrote dozens of product descriptions for the luxury white goods manufacturer Miele, and penned press releases for More Than Insurance.
I achieved a Diploma in Copywriting having studied in my spare time. I started doing bits and pieces of freelance copywriting work in the evenings and at weekends, gaining valuable experience by working for well-known brands via an online copywriting agency.
I joined a digital marketing agency and got even more into copywriting, writing for some big clients including the tour operator Trafalgar Tours. I also managed several big SEO client accounts, including Tetley Tea and Christie + Co, carrying out technical work as well as project management. On a freelance basis I also copy-edited my first full-length books.
I graduated from Oxford University with a 2.1 degree in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History. I started working full-time for the travel company, where my job was to research, map and write about global travel destinations. I also wrote guest blog posts and travel guides for other sites on behalf of the company, including Skyscanner and BuyAssociation.
I started my degree at St John's College, Oxford University. I also worked for a travel company in my university holidays, and took my first steps into the world of copywriting and proofreading. I helped holiday home owners write enticing adverts for their properties, as well as proofreading company mailouts and writing about different worldwide destinations.
